Matthew W. Hughey is an associate professor in the department of sociology and the Institute for African American Studies at the University of Connecticut. He is a co-editor (with Gregory S. Parks) of 12 Angry Men: True Stories of Being a Black Man in America Today (The New Press) and the author of White Bound: Nationalists, Antiracists, and the Shared Meanings of Race. Hughey is on the editorial boards of Ethnic and Racial Studies, Journal of Contemporary Ethnography, Humanity & Society, and Social Problems and is a founding associate editor of the Sociology of Race and Ethnicity.
