Christopher Simpson is the author of many books concerning the history and politics of mass media and Cold War and national security agencies, including Blowback, The Splendid Blond Beast, Science of Coercion, and National Security Directives of the Reagan and Bush Administrations, as well as numerous articles for journals and professional publications. His work has won many awards, including the National Jewish Book Award and the Investigative Reporters and Editors Award. He teaches in the School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C.
