The news is full of stories of hate – from incidents of discrimination and disrespect, to mass shootings and the riots and protests turning America into a divided country. Community activist and civil rights lawyer Arjun Singh Sethi (American Hate: Survivors Speak Out) records the heartbreaking true stories of individuals affected by hate; Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Eli Saslow (Rising Out of Hatred) shares the journey of a white-supremacist leader as he evolves to disavow his heritage of bigotry and hate and Dolly Chugh (The Person You Mean to Be, How Good People Fight Bias) shares her research to effectively and respectfully confront one’s own personal bias and prejudices. These authors hold up the mirror for us to see the victims and the instigators, but more importantly for each of us to see the opportunities and urgency to reject the inhumanity of hate.
