Arlie Russell Hochschild, Emerita Professor of Sociology at UC Berkely, will present her forthcoming book, Strangers in their Own Land (The New Press, 2016)  with responses from Cihan Tuğal, Raka Ray, and Paul Pierson.
 
Cihan Tuğal is Associate Professor of Sociology and author of Passive Revolution: Absorbing the Islamic Challenge to Capitalism (Stanford Univ. Press, 2009) and The Fall of the Turkish Model: How the Arab Uprishing Brought Down Islamic Liberalism (Verso, 2016)
 
Raka Ray is Professor of Sociology and author of Fields of Protest: Women's Movements in India (Unic. of Minnesota, 1999) and Culture of Servitude: Modernity, Domesticity and Class in India, co-authored with Seemin Qaum (Stanford Univ. Press, 2009)
 
Paul Pierson is Professor of Political Sciencee and author of Off-Center: The Republican Revolution and the Eroision of American Democracy, co-authored with Jacob Hacker (Yale Univ. Press, 2005) and Winner-Take-All Politics: How Washington Made the Rich Richer and Turned Its Back on the Middle Class, co-authored with Jacob Hacker (Simon and Schuster, 2010)
