Robert Bernstein will discuss his memoir, Speaking Freely: My Life in Publishing and Human Rights, in conversation with Michael Posner, the Jerome Kohlberg Professor of Ethics and Finance and a Professor of Business and Society at NYU’s Stern School of Business. 
 
As the president of Random House for more than 25 years, Bernstein published William Faulkner, James Michener, Toni Morrison, Truman Capote, E.L. Doctorow, and Dr. Seuss—as well as Andrei Sakharov, Natan Sharansky, Liu Binyan, Jacobo Timerman, and Václav Havel, dissidents whose work he helped to bring to worldwide attention in his role as the father of modern human rights.
