RestorationART in partnership with The New Press presents a breathtaking evening of dance, as the internationally renowned choreographer who hails from Bed-Stuy Ronald K. Brown comes home for his annual concert at The Billie Holiday Theatre. Evidence presents work that provides a unique view of human struggles, tragedies, and triumphs. Brown uses movement as a way to reinforce the importance of community in African American culture and to acquaint audiences with the beauty of African forms and rhythms.
Moderated by RestorationART Creative Director Hollis King, Ronald K. Brown is joined by former federal prosecutor and criminal law scholar Paul Butler to illuminate the limitations placed on and removed from the Black male body through the lens of Butler’s insightful new book Chokehold: Policing Black Men.
