Omar Musa at Spur Festival
April 7, 2016
- 7:00 p.m.
Appel Salon, Toronto Reference Library
789 Yonge Street,
Toronto CA

From neuroscientists to anthropologists to Malcolm Gladwell, there’s no scarcity of theory about why people cleave to a defined collective, even as the world becomes increasingly mobile and interconnected. War, famine and political strife scatter refugees across the world – or trap them in massive camps – while immigration is the main fuel of population growth in many countries, including our own. Have the ties that bind become more fluid, or more rigid? Spur explores the nature of social cohesion from exhilaratingly distinct perspectives.

Author of Here Come the Dogs Omar Musa will provide a short performance prior to this event. Mr Musa’s performance is made possible thanks to the support of the RBC Emerging Artists program and Access Copyright.
