Theresa Amato
An award-winning public interest lawyer, Theresa Amato was named by the American Lawyer as one of forty-five public sector lawyers whose work is changing lives. She is the founder of the Citizen Advocacy Center, the executive director of Citizen Works, and the author of Grand Illusion: The Myth of Voter Choice in a Two-Party Tyranny (The New Press) and Liberated Lawyering: How Lawyers Can Change the World (forthcoming from The New Press). Amato lives with her spouse and their two daughters in Oak Park, Illinois.
