Philip J. Williams is a professor of political science and the director of the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Florida. He is a co-author, with Marie Friedmann Marquardt, Timothy J. Steigenga, and Manuel A. Vásquez, of Living “Illegal”: The Human Face of Unauthorized Immigration (The New Press). His scholarly work has appeared in numerous edited volumes and journals, including Comparative Politics, the Journal of Latin American Studies, the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, Latin American Research Review, and Latino Studies. He lives in Gainesville, Florida.
