Peggy Levitt is chair and professor of sociology at Wellesley College and a senior research fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and the Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Harvard University, where she co-directs the Transnational Studies Initiative. She is the author of God Needs No Passport: Immigrants and the Changing American Religious Landscape (The New Press); The Transnational Villagers; and a co-editor, with Mary Waters, of The Changing Face of Home. She lives in Concord, Massachusetts.
