Aronoff and Smith discuss how capitalism and neoliberalism have failed the working class, particularly people of color and other marginalized communities.  Witnessing the current resurgence of democratic socialism in the United States, as exemplified by the growing membership of Democratic Socialists of America and the popularity of politicians like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, they explore how this energy might be channeled to achieve a future that is more democratic, egalitarian, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable in the age of Trump and beyond.
