John Tirman is the executive director and a principal research scientist at MIT’s Center for International Studies. He is the author of numerous books including The Deaths of Others, The Fallacy of Star Wars, and Spoils of War, and has published articles in the the New York Times, the Washington Post, Esquire, the Wall Street Journal, and the International Herald Tribune. He lives in Washington, D.C.
