Richard A. Leo

An expert in false confessions, Richard A. Leo is the Hamill Family Chair in Law and Social Psychology and professor and dean’s circle research scholar at the University San Francisco School of Law, and a fellow in the Institute for Legal Research at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. He is the author of Police Interrogation and American Justice and a co-author, with Tom Wells, of The Wrong Guys: Murder, False Confessions, and the Norfolk Four (The New Press). He lives in San Francisco.
