The New Press Remembers Rachel Guidera

Thursday, June 19, 2014

The New Press mourns the loss of Rachel Guidera (February 4, 1972–June 17, 2014), our former sales and marketing manager. Rachel was an amazing presence at The New Press—and in the world. Smart, funny, caustic, beautiful, vibrant, deeply kind, she had a knack for making hard things seem easy and for making everything fun. When Rachel left The New Press to go back to school to become a special education teacher, everyone thought how lucky her students would be. Alas, this was not to be. But the fact is very few people twice her age manage to lead such lovely and full lives. We extend our deepest condolences to Rachel ’s father, Brian; to her sister, Christine; to David; and to her countless friends who will always remember and miss her, as will we.
