Deepa Iyer will discuss her book We Too Sing America: South Asian, Arab, Muslim, and Sikh Immigrants Shape Our Multiracial Future in conversation with Zahra Billoo, Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations SF and Ayoka Turner of the Black Lives Matter Network.

Deepa and guests will explore the post-9/11 climate, multiracial solidarity, and how to foster racial equity in the United States.

This event is presented by Oakland Public Library and the Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California as part of "Islam & Authors" - now in its sixth year - in partnership with CAIR-SF, the Black Lives Matter Network, Alliance for South Asians Taking Action (ASATA), Grassroots Global Justice/World March of Women U.S. Chapter, and Rockwood Leadership Institute.
